A recent report entitled “Reducing Teen Substance Misuse: What Really Works,” by Trust for America’s Health (TFAH) found that youth drug overdose fatalities among 12 to 25 year-olds more than doubled in 35 states over the past ten years. The report goes on to list recommendations to reduce teen substance use and calls on academic and healthcare professionals to incorporate Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) as routine practice, for a positive impact on youth.

Building upon successful simulations in healthcare professions such as At-Risk in Primary Care, At-Risk in the ED and Change Talk, Kognito launched two new simulations that allow professionals to learn and practice SBIRT.
